What is there to do in Long Beach?
The answer is quite a lot, but there’s one place in particular that we always recommend our guests experience when visiting Long Beach.
The Aquarium of the Pacific
Located minutes from Hotel CURRENT is the Aquarium of the Pacific that has been delighting guests of all ages for over 20 years. Experience the wonder of the natural undersea flora and fauna that is available. Turtles, sea lions, whale watching, penguins, sharks and much more await you!
The Aquarium of the Pacific rests on a 5-acre site on Rainbow Harbor in Long Beach, California. It is directly across the water from the Long Beach Convention Center, Shoreline Village, and the Queen Mary Hotel and Attraction. It’s Southern California’s largest aquarium with 1.7 million people visiting every year.
The Aquarium offers visitors a chance to experience both onsite and virtual wonders of the ocean and its wildlife. For those interested in the changing environment, and the conservation efforts, there are full information displays available.
Something for Everyone
The aquarium also features guest speakers several times a month sharing their knowledge and experience working with sea creatures of all types.
There are close to 20 attractions running within the aquarium at any one time, and special events during holiday seasons. Some of the most popular exhibits include the Sea Otter Habitat, the Shark Lagoon and the virtual events such as Penguins 4D.
The Aquarium of the Pacific offers an educational and entertaining day out for all ages. It’s the perfect mix of kid-friendly fun and scientific learning.
